February 2026

Hello, my dear friend,

As I sit down to write to you, it’s later than I thought. I would still like to plant some seeds indoors before the day is done, but I have four patterns to show you, so I’ll get straight to it!

This first one features mallard ducks. I really like drawing ducks (and geese), in case you hadn’t noticed!

This second one features Luther, who is officially my most frequently drawn subject!

The third one was for Spoonflower, and the theme was Farmer’s Market.

And finally, the fourth one is also for Spoonflower, and the theme was Mediterranean Hues.

Do you have a favorite? As in most cases, my favorite is the one with my dog!

You can find all my patterns through Spoonflower and Redbubble.

The free digital wallpaper gift is, as usual, available on my Wallpaper page, just for you, if you are an email subscriber!

Here are a couple of snapshots of sketches.

Daily sketchbook

This little sketchbook is almost full, and I’m considering doing something different. Nothing dramatic, just going bigger! There, I said it! Let’s see if I’m still feeling brave once I actually finish this small sketchbook.

Spring is almost here, just look at these magnolia buds ready to burst!

That’s it for this month. I wish you a happy spring, and may you bloom as joyfully as my magnolias!

Warmly,

Ema

As an illustrator and pattern designer, I believe in the power of imagery to bring joy.

My work centers on hand-painted repeating patterns, inspired by the fantasy and magical realism stories I love to read.

I work in both traditional and digital mediums.

Long walks with my little dog are one of my favorite pastimes.

If you're interested in collaborating on a project, feel free to reach out and ask about my availability.
