August 2025
Hello, my dear friend,
Lately, I’ve been busy with gardening—well, not actual gardening yet, but planning for next year. I’ve been reading books, researching online, and watching videos. I must admit, I’m feeling quite overwhelmed. There are so many things to consider, and I change my mind almost every day (sometimes several times a day!) about what to plant, where to plant it, and how to organize it all.
I think having a bigger garden will be a constant source of inspiration for my drawing. One of the patterns I created this month was inspired by some wild berries I saw during our walks.
You can find it through Spoonflower, Redbubble and as a wallpaper.
Sketchbook
Some days are more difficult than others, but I keep drawing every day. When I don’t have much time, or it’s late and I’m tired, I usually make a quick sketch of my foot or hand!
I’m also almost finished with a pattern featuring birds wearing berets! It turned out very playful and colorful, and I’ll share it with you next month.
On September 6th, I’ll be drawing on children’s book covers during Ezelsoor in Halle, Belgium. I did this once before and really enjoyed it—despite having to draw Stitch many times! If you’re in the neighborhood, come say hi! You can find all the info here.
That’s it for now—see you when September ends!

As an illustrator and pattern designer, I believe in the power of imagery to bring joy.
My work centers on hand-painted repeating patterns, inspired by the fantasy and magical realism stories I love to read.
I work in both traditional and digital mediums.
Long walks with my little dog are one of my favorite pastimes.
